About the author:

Matt Mitchell is an avid baseball fan and statistician. He holds an undergraduate and a graduate degree in statistics, and credits the book Curve Ball, written by Jim Albert and Jay Bennett, with steering his decision to get those degrees. He greatly wishes he could write as concisely and naturally as the late Roger Ebert.
